PSALM

Membership

Through its Membership Program, PSALM seeks the on-going support of all those who love the beauty of Orthodox liturgical music and share in the mission and goals of the organization. We welcome donations of any amount from individuals, parishes, choirs, and parish organizations and encourage gift subscriptions to individuals, parish libraries, local public libraries, and college/university libraries. The prices below are for memberships within the United States. For inernational membership there is a 20% additional charge to cover additional postage.

Membership Options and their Benefits

In addition to supporting the projects and programs listed below, PSALM members receive the following benefits:
  • 20% discount on all PSALM pulbications
  • 10% discount on all PSALM events and workshops
  • Subscription to PSALM Notes newsletter.

Parish members receive multiple copies of PSALM Notes:

  • Parish A - 15 copies of each issue
  • Parish B - 8 copies of each issue
  • Mission - 6 copies of each issue

Benefactors receive a subscription to PSALM Notes but no other discounts.

After September 1, 2005 PSALM members will receive a 33% discount on all music downloaded from the Liturgical Music Resource. Until September 1, downloads are free to everyone.

PSALM memberships run from September through August, based on the Church year.

Levels of Membership

General Membership: $45

Student Member: $15. (A student is anyone who is enrolled full-time in elementary or secondary school, or in an academic degree program.)

Parish A Membership: $140

Parish B Membership: $100

Mission Parish Membership: $70

Benefactor: Donors of $25 or more (tax-deductible)

Programs and Services:

  • Liturgical Music Resource (LMR)

  • The PSALM website includes, in addition to the LMR, a "bulletin board" for upcoming events related to Orthodox liturgical music and worship, a glossary of liturgical music terms, articles from previous editions of the PSALM Notes newsletter, and choir director job postings.

  • Regional Workshops and Conferences began in 2005 with two regional workshops. This program wil be gradually expanded over the next five years to include events throughout the United States.

  • PSALM Notes newsletter contains articles of both a practical and a more scholarly nature on a wide range of topics, plus book and recording reviews, and other useful resources and information for Church musicians, readers, and clergy.

  • PSALM Music Press focuses on special projects and bound collections of music, with special emphasis on American Orthodox composers.

  • The PSALM E-Group is a growing community of people from all over the globe who meet in cyberspace to share information related to Orthodox Liturgical music, offer advice, and lend moreal support.
